Jalapeno Popper Burger (GLP-1)

A GLP-1 friendly jalapeno popper burger built on a lean ground beef patty seared and topped with whipped light cream cheese, roasted jalapenos, and a thin slice of cheddar. Served open-faced on half a whole wheat bun with black beans folded in for fibre and fresh tomato.

Instructions

Prep Mix the ground beef with smoked paprika, garlic powder and salt in a bowl, then form one patty and set aside.

Roast Rub the halved jalapeno with the olive oil and roast in a dry skillet over medium-high heat 4 minutes per side until the skin blisters, then chop.

Sear Sear the patty in the same skillet over medium-high heat 3 to 4 minutes per side until a brown crust forms and juices run clear at 160F.

Melt Lay the cheddar on the patty, spoon the light cream cheese and chopped jalapenos over, cover the skillet off the heat 1 minute until the cheese slumps.

Plate Toast the whole wheat bun half in the skillet 30 seconds, layer black beans, tomato and the loaded patty, then spoon over any pan juices.
