Preheat grill or barbecue to high heat. Mix softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, chives, lemon juice, lemon zest, black pepper, and salt until fully combined. Set aside.

Place a small teaspoon of garlic herb butter on each shucked oyster. Scatter a pinch of grated Parmesan over each buttered oyster. Carefully place oysters shell-side down on the grill grate.

Grill over high heat 5 to 6 minutes until butter bubbles, oyster edges curl slightly, and Parmesan turns golden. Remove carefully with tongs—shells will be extremely hot.

Arrange oysters on a serving platter. Serve immediately with crusty French bread and lemon wedges.
