Prep Slice the beef sirloin thinly against the grain, cut the onion and green pepper into strips, and season the beef with salt and pepper.

Saute Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook the onion and pepper 4 to 5 minutes until softened and browning.

Sear Push vegetables aside and add the beef in a single layer, searing over medium-high heat 3 to 4 minutes until it loses its pink colour and browns.

Warm Stir in the black beans over medium heat 2 minutes until hot and combined with the seared beef and vegetables throughout.

Plate Split the toasted whole-wheat sub roll, scoop the hot beef and black bean mixture into it, and serve immediately.
