Griddle the seasoned patty in a dry heavy pan over medium-high heat 3 minutes per side until a deep brown crust forms and juices run clear.

Lay the sharp cheddar over the hot patty and cover the pan over low heat 1 minute until the cheese softens and melts down.

Toast the cut whole wheat slider bun halves in the pan over medium heat 1 minute until the surfaces turn golden and firm at the edges.
