Double Double Burger (High-Protein)
A high-protein take on the classic double burger, stacking two lean beef patties with melted American cheese, grilled onions, and a black bean spread inside a whole wheat bun. Tomato, lettuce, and mustard finish it. The bean layer and whole grain bun push protein and fibre higher.

Instructions
1
Prep
Divide the beef into two balls and season with salt and pepper, then mash the black beans with a fork into a rough spread.
2
Saute
Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the sliced onion 4 minutes, stirring, until soft and edges turn golden.
3
Sear
Raise the skillet to medium-high, press each beef ball into a thin patty and cook 2 minutes per side until browned with no pink remaining.
4
Melt
Lay the American cheese over one patty, stack the second on top, cover off the heat 1 minute until the cheese slumps and coats the patties.
5
Plate
Toast the whole wheat bun, spread the beans and mustard on the base, stack lettuce, tomato, patties and onion, then cap and serve.
